Browned butter chocolate chip cookies


How to make my brown butter chocolate chip cookies:

My browned butter chocolate chip cookies are the best. These pallet teasers are absolutely yummy. They are quite easy to make. All you need are the following ingredients and you are on your way. And as usual, you may alter the proportions to fit your liking/taste.

Ingredients:

One cup bread flour
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon table salt
One teaspoon baking soda
Two sticks unsalted butter
2-3 tablespoons cold water
One cup dark brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
Two teaspoons vanilla extract
One large egg
One large egg yolk
One cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup semisweet mini chocolate chips

Directions:

First, you will set your oven to 350˚F or180˚and allow it to preheat.

Next, sift together the flours, salt, and baking soda and set aside. Afterward, place butter into a medium saucepan and melt over medium heat.

Bring butter to a boil. Stir constantly.

Once the butter has turned into a nutty brown, remove from the heat and pour into a liquid measuring cup to stop the cooking. Stir it and add 2-3 tablespoons of cold water to compensate for the water loss during the melting process. You should have one full 1 cup of liquid. Set aside and allow to cool to room temperature. You may place it in your refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to help speed up cooling. But you must make sure the butter is still liquid when you are adding it to the dough later. Next, you will add vanilla, sugar and cooled browned butter in a large mixing bowl. Beat with your electric mixer until mixture is light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes.

Add one egg and one yolk to the mixture and beat until perfectly combined.

Add the dry ingredients, about ⅓ of the mixture at a time, and beat between additions until just incorporated. Any unmixed flour on the edge of the bowl will get included in the next step.

Use a wooden spoon to fold the chocolate chips into the dough.

Use an ice cream scoop to drop cookies two inches apart onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

To optimize flavor, cover, and refrigerate the dough for at least one hour. Bake cookies in a preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown

Once baking is complete, pull the baking sheet from the oven and allow it to sit for 3-5 minutes. Next, transfer cookies to a cooling rack to finish cool.
