You have heard it said, “an apple a day will keep the doctor away”. The same is true about an orange.
Oranges are rich sources of Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant (antioxidants help to improve your immune system and protect your body against cell damage), Calcium-helps to build healthy bones and teeth. But they also contain vitamin A (good for the eyes and skin), vitamin B6 (plays a vital role in the production of hemoglobin), and potassium (helps maintain electrolytic balance and cardiac health).
The humble onion is in every kitchen. It is mostly used in recipes to add flavor. However, it has curative powers that make it an essential medicinal plant. Like garlic, it is a member of the lily family. There can be no doubting the ability of the juices contained in onions; anyone who has ever sliced one and shed a tear is only too aware that they hold something special. Quite apart from its medicinal properties the onion merely is delicious. It forms the basis of so many dishes – whether raw, sautéed, baked, steamed or boiled that it would be difficult to imagine the cuisine of any country without it. see post at https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/ingredient-focus-onions
